Outreach
Key Outreach Results (2017-2019)
In the Outreach component of the New Migration Narratives project, the aim was to equip a team of German practitioner mentors with skills to act as multipliers and sensitise a wider group of German actors to engage in constructive, emotionally smart public campaigns. In fact, there was lots more interest in the outcomes and lessons from the Lab than originally expected, so our outreach numbers are high:
- Trained 11 Germany-speaking multipliers/trainers to present the results and lessons from the project
- Presented at 30 partners events in Germany and Europe. For example, our project closing event had a broad reach of German and International participants and presenters.
- Shared lessons with 650 German and International Activists.
Original plans from 2017:
In the Outreach component of the New Migration Narratives project, the aim is to equip a team of German practitioner mentors with skills to act as multipliers and sensitise a wider group of German actors to engage in constructive, emotionally smart public campaigns.
Specifically, this component will:
- Build capacity of a team of five German practitioner-mentors in 2019 to introduce and promote the reframing approach to broader networks at 10 events in Berlin and beyond organised by partners.
- Soften up/sensitise a wide network of approx 120 progressive spokespeople and campaigners to the possibility of using a reframing approach and catalyse a community of practice
- Connect reframing practitioners and experience from the US, UK and Europe to the German network by inviting them to events and documenting their experience in the toolkit.
- Connect and network campaigners from across the sectors in Germany especially to social movements as a way to foster alliance building, finding key supporters and messengers for developing and implementing future communications campaigns
