Pedagogical Tools
The Pedagogical Tools component of the New Migration Narratives project aimed to build a set of practical resources to support skill building of progressive campaigners and spokespersons to positively reshape the public and policy debates on migration and integration. Key outcomes were:
1. Reframing Migration Narratives toolkit launched in English and German in December 2018.
- 30,000 pageviews of the toolkit (Aug 2020) and recognised as an important contribution by key partners, e.g. OECD.
- 5000 copies of '12 keys to reframing the migration debate' distributed in English, German and Italian.
- 4000 views of project videos (Aug 2020)
- Translated and Launched in Italian (July 2020).
- Working on a Greek translation to be launched in late 2020.
2. Developed a full curriculum & workshops to support the development of reframing campaigning skills
Original Plans from 2017:
Specifically, this component will:
- Produce an online Reframing Migration Narratives Toolkit (2018) to raise awareness and interest in the reframing approach and also, share guidelines and cases of campaigning practice
- Develop practical, campaigning-skills-building workshops on reframing to engage the middle in the migration debate, as part of the Narrative Change Lab (2018)
- Document and showcase the campaigns developed through the Narrative Change Lab to learn lessons and add more German insight to the toolkit (2019)
- Launch (2018) and expand (2019) the toolkit to become the go-to resource platform for advocates working in this field.
